BAART E Street provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder using evidence-based medications including methadone and buprenorphine, more commonly known as Suboxone®. At BAART we recognize that addiction must be treated with a whole-patient approach and that everyone’s needs are different. Every patient that comes through our doors is treated with respect and dignity while a counselor and medical provider work together to create the treatment plan that would be best for their medical and use history. A staff of experienced and empathetic medical professionals is there to help every patient work towards their recovery goals while coordinating care to include services like counseling and medical screenings.

Medication-Assisted Treatment at BAART E Street

BAART believes in MAT, and has been using it for more than 40 years, as it is the gold standard of treating opioid use disorder whether the patient is using illicit or prescription opioids. Methadone, buprenorphine and Suboxone®, can help ease withdrawal symptoms for 24 to 36 hours once a therapeutic dose has been reached. A therapeutic dose eliminates withdrawal symptoms but does not provide a “high” or euphoric feeling. The medical provider at the clinic will be able to accurately prescribe doses of these medications to optimally comfort patients as they continue to work on other aspects of their addiction.

Patients are required to visit the methadone clinic for their medication daily as it creates structure during the treatment progress. However, with time, privileges may be earned that allow medication to be taken home. There is also a 21-day outpatient methadone detoxification program available at this facility for those wishing to taper their dependence on opioids with the use of methadone with minimal withdrawal symptoms , but not enroll in a longer term maintenance program.

Substance Use Counseling at BAART

The professionals at BAART are aware that a whole-patient approach is most effective when treating opioid use disorder. Along with methadone maintenance and MAT, individual counseling has also proven to be beneficial to patients who strive for recovery. During these sessions, they are able to speak with knowledgeable and experienced counselors that will help equip them with coping tools that can help prepare them to deal with stressors and triggers in life while working to accomplish their short and long-term goals. While one-on-one counseling is vital, there is also group therapy where patients discuss their treatment and recovery goals with others who have had similar experiences in addiction. Group sessions have been shown to provide much-needed compassion for patients who may be out of touch with family or in need of support.

This facility also offers addiction and relapse prevention education, which is critical for people who are looking to stay on the right track.
